any suggestions on how to fasten wire to that white plastic effectively to route it well?

drill holes and zip tie it where you want it. or do a more elaborate job and put some sealer on it to hold them where you want

I don't see how drilling holes is an option along the bulk of the door, unless you want zip ties making their rounds through the front surface of your door
