good deal?? need advice on buildin motor

Default good deal?? need advice on buildin motor

i got a 99 civic si with drag den III turbo hondata tuned at 8psi, RC440 injectors and i was gonna build my motor this year but then was having second thoughts.. a buddy of mine blew his motor last year and was goin to rebuild it and went and got abunch of stuff but now he says its time to grow up so hes selin everything.

heres what im interested in

b18C1...AEBS SLEEVED, COPPER O-RINGS, AND bored to 2.0L - NEVER USED!!! 1250

-JE 9 to 1 Compression pistons for 2.0L GSR NEVER USED
with pins and rings- for- 400

FULL RACE RODS made by manley- NEVER USED with arp bolts!!- sell for 500

so that will pretty much take care of my bottem end... my question is what else would i really need to be safe ..i wanna run around like 350-400whp

forged crank would be a nice addition to that setup.... and maybe a blockguard.

y would i need a block guard then the block is already sleeved??

AEBS sleeves (in fact I think all aftermarket sleeves) have the guard as part of the sleeve... <--- see avatar. h:

What mm is it bored to? 84? 85?

This should give you an idea of what you might need to run that HP safely.

I make ~390 on my daily driven motor. It will soon be more. :rick:

You will need at least 550cc injectors (that I will soon be selling) to meet your goal. hih man.

upgrade your valvetrain and maybe get some cams?

hey thanks man...ur setup is sick

i was lookin for about the same #'s as u got maybe even alittle less, is it really important to do head work?

You don't need cams. GSR cams will make 650 whp. I run OEM cams now and OEM gears.

I did all my own work, built the motor and everything so you can do it.

The only head work I have is a 3 angle valve job and port matching on the intake and exhaust. I'm working on some new upgrades that will likely put me closer to 450 so keep your eyes open.
