Default help! muffler problem?

hi, i've recently installed a tanabe muffler onto my civic. after turning off the engine and opening the hood, the engine feels a lot hotter than usual. is this just normal? do i have to change something on my car to support my new muffler? btw, i've also had my filter change to hks prior to installing the muffler (but it works just fine until intalling the muffler). am i doing something wrong or forgetting to put something. i need your advises. thanks.. God bless.

Did you touch your engine to see exactly how much hotter it is?

seriously, just check your temp gauge. if its fine there, dont worry. Maybe you're riding harder b/c you like the sound? The ecu will re-learn itself, eventually....if you reset the ecu it will relearn quicker...

no, it just felt like really hotter (the air that comes out when you first opened the hood, remember that i opened the hood right after shuting off the engine). the hood (i've touched it) is also hotter than usual.

might just be relative, like i said. When i first put on my exhaust, i loved the response and the sound so i drove harder than usual. Might have raised the temp 10-20 degrees more, which isnt really much, but it would feel hotter. I'd just go my your temp gauge, maybe flush your coolant system out (if you haven't done recently) and enjoy.
