ummm....you'll get spanked by the H22...well atleast if its stock for stock

but i would go with the B18B...in IMO more potential...so many options *LS/Vtec, TURBO...etc...*

IMO:

B16A's were good all around engines that has a lot of potential. It is the lightest of the Bseries, and is a relatively cheap VTEC engine. These engines are usually direct bolt ins

B18B's are good for building up Frankenstein setups and turbos. They run cheaper or the same as B16A's in price and are good candidates for LS/VTEC and turbo applications. This engine is usually a direct bolt in.

B18C's are great motors if you just want torque and power all in one. Downfall is the motor is usually the second most expensive option to go with. But believe me, you will not be disappointed with the power/weight ratio with this setup in your Civic. It is open to a lot of potentials as the B16A's and is usually a direct bolt in.

B18C-R's (aka B18C5) are the king of the crop for N/A performance. The advantage of the power/weight ratio as the GSR (B18C) with the refined tuned performance of a Type R motor from the factory. This motor needs no tuning or modifications. Yet this motor is rare and the most expensive options. B16B's (Civic Type R) will be similar, but cheaper than the B18C-R. These motors are usually direct bolt in also.

H22A's are the biggest displacement engine you can put in a Civic. They usually run cheaper than the Bseries setups, BUT you do need to find motor mounts and possibly other few misc. items and modifications to make this fit in a Civic. Lots of power, also lots of weight, and more time and parts to get the motor in. Personally, I've never driven a H22 Civic before, but Im sure the power and torque is rewarding.
