To answer the original poster, if you're going to get a spoiler for your car, you might as well get one that you think looks good because aerodynamics don't really matter on a street car.

To the guy who spun out doing 115: :slap:

The only functional spoiler that I know of for sure that Honda sold would be sourced from an ITR, the Del-Sol is already a little heavier in the back because of that huge trunklid. As for the guy travelling 115 down a country road - I am with you, sort of - You see, quite a few of us after the low quarter mile times tend to strip every last ounce out of our cars that we can. Unfortunately, that weight is usually stripped from the rear withing a quarter mile, if we are lucky we are nearing 100mph. I would consider this a great time for the spoiler of any car to begin working to provide downforce to the rear of my car, when the brakes are applied, remember weight will shift forward naturally onto the front tires and the effectiveness of the spoiler would decrease exponentially...that's just how I see it, I am a big fan of aerodynamics physics and form following function.

Your opinion of the speed I was travelling doesn't concern me. I don't really care. Plus, you weren't there so you didn't see how it went down. But I can't believe you are going to sit there and tell me that rear downforce would not have affected the car enough at those speeds. Sure an OEM spoiler wouldn't, but you are basically telling me that no amount of rear downforce would have given me enough traction.

you know what you're right... i say you get the biggest spoiler possible, be sure to paint it too so that way the extra weight of the paint can add to the amount of force being applied to the ground. that way when u up the ante and push it to 120mph on country roads, you'll have more than enough rear wheel traction than needed... watch out for cows though.
