Default need tp put head on

I need to put my head back on my engine, it is a D15. How would i go about doing this? Where should the pistons be at before i put the head on, which ones should be at the top? What is everything i have to do to put it back on correctly?

1. Stop.
2. Go buy a $15 haynes manual from your local auto parts store. It will detail the tools, parts, procedure, fluids, torque specifications threadlockers and adhesives you need to do the job right.

It's not hard, you just have to get it 100% right the first time. There's a few parts you should replace like your head bolts, timing belt, water pump, timing tensioner pulley and head gasket. Many of those aren't re-usable. You need to follow instructions from the Haynes manual over what anyone tells you on tha intarweb.

i downloaded the helms manual from the sticky, but i was just unsure about what position the pistons should be at. It says top dead center, does that mean the first piston should be TDC? If I also align the head to TDC than i can just put it on? I have all the necessary tools, and from reading the helms i know all the torque specifications and the order to torque each bolt. i just figured i would ask to get extra information. And i do have all new gaskets and a new timing belt.

In the wise words of Chilton's:

"Installation is the reverse of removal."

Cylinder #1 should be at TDC. The head should be aligned to the TDC markings on the cam gear.
