its in the VIN number. like the 3rd and/or 4th few numbers in the VIN. EG6, EG8, EG9, DC2, DC4 etc. they all identify the type of body style of the car. some other things are also identified from the VIN also.

if its manual or auto, the trim level (si, ex, lx, dx) the plant it was made in, manufacture, model...
an EG is a 92-95 civic by the way, however there were 3 differrent ones used, EG EJ and one other im not sure of.

EJ's are most typically coupes (but not always) and EG's are typicallly Hatchbacks.
