how can i tell if it has ABS...asking for insurance purposes they wanted to know for my g/f car and it doesnt say ABS anywhere...where can i find out?

 

I don't know about the 5th gen, but my 99 has the ABS indicator that lights up on the gauge cluster when the car's started (along with the check engine and oil lights). Hope this helps.

 

i think you are right but i drove the car around today and i slammed on the brakes and it didnt lock up and it was wet..but no indicator come on...hmmmm

 

if u got rear disk brakes then u have ABS. later

 

I don't know if the indicator comes on during ABS use. I don't have ABS, but the manual said the indicator lights up when you start the car, I guess as a "System is OK" check like the engine and oil lights. Does anyone know for sure? Sorry I'm guessing.

 

I don't think that there were a lot of Ex coupes running around with ABS. Best bet would just to look at the rear brakes.
