Default Turbo a stock JDM SOHC ZC

I have a 95 EX with a JDM SOHC VTEC ZC motor. Can i buy a standard Civic EX turbo kit and fit it on here. I know the compression is higher than the USDM Civic, will that screw with the turbo.

Last question Revhard, Greddy, or DIY???

I never knew that there was a sohc zc vtec. I know of the one that is basically a d16a6. So what I am saying is i dont really know what engine you have and the compresion ratio.

It's basically the JDM version of the usdm a6 ?? It has higher compression and higher redline and like 5 more hp than the stock motor for the same car.

The car is a 95 Civic EX Sedan. The motor is not.

JDM DOHC ZC = US D16A1 with a serious power boost.
JDM SOHC ZC = US D16A6 with a good power boost.
JDM SOHC VTEC ZC = US D16Z6 with a couple extra horsepower.

Use a turbo kit for the D16Z6. Difference in compression will require a finer tuning.

The exhaust manifold bolt pattern is the same, and the intake manifold should be close enough to use the same charge pipe. Everything else doesn't really matter.

I don't belive that there is that much difference in compression.
3rdgenlxi,
How much power are you looking to make?

Invest in your tuning. If you were to run hondata, and a quality set-up (drag or revahard would be a good kit if you ditch the fmu/inline fuel pump) you should have no problems passing emissions. Do you have to pass a visual? Or is it just the sniffer?
