Default Civic tranny in a Teg?

Hi anybody know if I could just swap out the tranny out of my 92 Teg with one out of a similar year civic? I have the b18 engine and a wrecking yard told me the Teg only uses a tranny that fits 92-93 integra only. Why wont a civic tranny fit in my car? Different mounts? Different bellhousing? Different clutch? Different axles? or is it all a matter of gear ratios? Any help would be great. If not is there a easy way to swap the engine tranny combo out of a civic into my car as far as mounts and wiring goes? By the way it is a 5 speed. Thanks for any help.

the only civic tranny that will bolt up to your b18 block is the b16 tranny. The b18 is DOHC and most civic are SOHC plus all that you listed, clutch, axles etc...

you can use any b-series transmission.

that includes transmissions from the following...

91-00 integra GSR, RS, LS.
99-00 civic SI

this however does not include transmissions from:
any model CRV
or a 1991 and under Prelude.

all mounts, axles, etc should line up. The gear ratios are differant though, which could mean equal or better acceleration in your case.

Actually my tranny is hydraulic so any newer ones listed would work as long as the mounts and axles would fit, I am going for a higher ratio without changing a lot of stuff to make it better to drive in traffic and so my wife will actually drive it. Keep the great help coming guys I appreciate it and look forward to fixing up my car with your help.

or it is Hydrolic? well you should get a b16 tranny the only thing bad about is that you will waste a little more gas
