Hey, found a set of 4 with nice Z rated tires, front tires need replacing, but rear are almost new, guy wants 300 for them, they are black, and in perfect condition, what do you guys/girls think?

I cant picture them on my car, I dont want anything larger than 16", and I plan on puting eibach proline kit on after the wheels to lower it, I wanted to know if 16" wheels will be ok? Also anyone have a picture of them on a 94 civic? I will make my final decision on friday, so any info would be great.

 

16x7 would look perfect on a 94 coupe. Just a couple of things you want to make a note of. Make sure that the offset on the wheels is at least +40mm or greater (up to +45mm) and that it has the correct wheel lug set up (4x100).

 

They are off of a newer Civic, its 4x100, I know cuz my friend that has a 80 somthin rabbit wants them and he has 4x100. they are 16x7's, and what do you meen by offset? I was gonna take them to a place that does balance and instalation for cheap. I think that is a good idea dont you?

Also, What is the correct size tire that is suposed to be on them? Cuz the guy that knows the guy that is sellin them said he thinks they are p205 40 16, does that sound right?

 

Oh ok offset, I was just lookin that up and understand now.... I hope they are 40+, I was lookin at the 16x7's and this is what they sell = 16X7 4-100 40S $167.00. And the only other 4x100 is this = 17X7 4-100 38S $195.00. So I think I am safe, but I will make sure befor I buy them...

Am I geting a good deal? Or should I look around more? I really needed tires and decent tires were going to run me about 3-400, and I figured I would go with some nice wheels that have tires that are currently better than the ones I have, and get 2 new tires when the ones on there are toast. Does this sound like a good plan? the guy wants 300$, and my friend said he wil prob take 250-280 if I just gave it to him on the spot. So what do you think?

Oh, forgot to ask one more question, what exacily will happen to my car when I put these wheels on? What will change? As far as gas mileage, hide height, acceleration and speed?

Sparco Tarmacs are sessy, and I think you are getting a really good deal...hell Si or GSR wheels will run you more than that.

 

If you could find out what the offset is exactly (if it is in fact +40) then it would be beneficial if you got a set of 205/45/16 tires. It wouldn't be that much off from the overall diameter of the stock tire, plus it'll give that extra "meat" to save your wheels from bending when hitting road imperfections (due to the bigger sidewall as opposed to the 205/40/16 tire).

Ride shouldn't be any different from what you have now, plus you'll have the benefit of a better steering response.

See its a 3 way deal, this guy is sellin his Jetta (that has the sparco's on it), and he is also sellin a Gulf VR6, and my friend from work wants the VR6, and he said if he gets it, then the guy was gonna take the wheels off of the jetta and put them on the VR6, and my friend from work said he would sell them to me because he alredy has wheels, and he said if he dont buy the car, then the guy who has the jetta with the tarmacs will prob sell them to me, depending on the deal he gets with his VR6....

It is alwats a big wheel and deal when it comes to good deals on used parts. Just hope it works out. And if not, I will go buy them new.. I have fallen in love with them, I never looked at Sparco wheels till a few nights ago, and I am hooked...

UPDATE!!!

I decided to take a 3 hr drive down south for the weekend and spend some time with friends, and on my trip down my car was shakin alot, and I figured it was because my tires are nice and bald, and maybe out of balance, I got down alright, and was paranoid on the trip back up, so I checked my car out really good, and aired up the tires to 38 (max 44), and headed on up, I was doin alright untill I was about 3/4 the way back home, when I blew my drivers side front tire, (it exploded), I was doing 60 because I was afraid somthin might happen, so I pulled over and changed to my spare and baby'd it home, went to the only place open that sells cheap'o' tires, and got 2 new winter tires for 100$, (needed a set for winter anyways). So that was my story. I am glad it wasnt worse, that was actualy my first flat ever, and I knew it was gonna happen befor it happend, I was gonna post pics of the tire, but when they replaced it they didnt give it back... When it blew, it completly came off the tire, and I ran it over with my rear tire, no body damage or scratched paint but the wheel was all messed up, sparks and stuff flew everywhere.
