Default Idle PROBLEM

ok I have a 98 Civic DX with stock engine. Idle keeps going up and down up and down. I got a new Throttle body and a new Throttle body Gasket, I clean my IACV. I checked vacuum lines all of these are fine. I dont know what else to do. It is really anoying when you come to a stop and the idle keeps going up and down. HELP ME figure this out anyone

it's probably air in the coolant, making the iacv, or the fiav read incorrectly.

unless there is a code, then that is my guess

how much is the idle moving up and down? does it move at regular intervals or does it seem random?

:werd: check your coolant levels. mine was doing the same thing when my lower hose sprung a leak and my car was running low on coolant.

up and down at idle...pretty quickly too.

is a new throttle body/gasket a lot of money, cuz i have that exact problem. Does urs idle really low sometimes, mines causes my engine to turn off some times. Kinda like its stalling. I hope it doesnt cost too much to fix it cuz i dont have the money to get stuff like that.

bxsnypa, the throttle body gasket shouldn't be too much, but a new throttle body is gonna cost ya. I couldn't figure out if that was what he said he replaced but there's MO.
