Default b16 vtec

hey guys, i have a '00 civic si with the b16a2. i havent had it for too long and its been burnin oil a lot. I put it up on the lift and checked all around and there wasnt any oil leaks. I drive at bout 80-85 on normal freeway and the rpms are at about 4500rpms. when does vtec engage on the b16a2 motor? Would drivin 80+mph at 4500rpms be the cause of me burnin oil?

i have the 94 del sol b16a3 and with my stock p30 ecu vtec comes in at 5500. runs strong. did u check for all possible leaks everywhere. vtec solenoid gasket? distributor o ring? cam seal? camshalf seals? headgasket? double oil filter ring? spark plugs?

at that speed and rpms is bout right but it wouldnt lead you to burning oil. how many miles is on ur car?
