Default need help!!

my civic has major stuttering/idling problems.

Ok just a few minutes ago before i got to school. I was driving over here, and my car like usually starts to stutter, alot. The car shut off 4 times on the way over to school. And now the CEL is on. Basically the problem is that the idle continues to move up and down, and that caused the car to shut off.

Im gonna take it to a mechanic after school today. I hope they can fix it tomorrow before 1, cause im willing to skip classes tomorrow, but i have to take a final at 130

otherwise i might have to borrow a van for a few days

any help very appreciated.

apparently the cylinders where misfiring. It is fixed. I also think it fixed my idling problem. I also replaced the spark plugs just incase. If idling issue happens again, should i check the IACV? ne other stuff to check as well?

Have you been getting a lot of rain lately in NY? If so, it may not hurt to dump a bottle of Heet in the gas tank. It will soak up any moisture that may be in there.
What did they do to your car at the dealer? Parts? Labor?

i didnt go to dealer b/c they rip you off. My uncle's a mechanic so he fixed it for me. The spark plugs were damaged/wires as well. So he replaced them all and the cel went off. thats all they did.

I still get the stuttering feeling when im idling tho at least i know its nothing related to spark plugs/wires. Im gonna have the iacv/vacuum lines check ne other things i should have checked?

Make sure the wires are secured on their connections. Also, you may want to look at doing dist cap and rotor. About the only other thing I can think of is to get the coil checked. You should be able to check resistances to see if it is good.

Does it stutter at other RPMs too or just at idle?

just at the idle, and sometimes when its bad it affects the acceleration. heres a description. Redlight...stutters..rpm moves b/w 300-700 aprox....light changes green.... go.. rpm meter holds at a point then moves again.

Im on a auto transmission if that helps.

and a quick lil ? i got my CAI a few days ago... was it supposed to come with 2 rubbers hoses if thats what they are called. Cuz all mine came with was the pipe, filter, clamps, and some other stuff that i dont remember what they are called. If i need those hoses could i buy them at lets say auto zone, or should i contact the company i bought the CAI from. The intake is AEM.

Did this problem start after or before you put the intake on?
