Default finally swapping *whew*

Well, after owning my car for 3 and a half years and not being able to come up with the money to buy a motor, I'm finally swapping. A guy is selling me his b16a sir-ii complete swap (which will leave me with some exta parts to sell) for $1200. He's also throwing in a DC 4-1 I test drove the car today and it ran fine, has recent rebuild new water pump and timing belt... etc.

The only problems are that it has a gsr tranny and a gsr ecu (so it wont rev high enough, but it runs fine) I can adress those issues later... for this price, I'd be stupid not to buy it. It showed up just in time, too. My d15z1 is really in poor shape... it started losing oil recently.

I know its not much, and I'm sure I'll have to upgrade again in the future, but at least my car will be able to get out of its own way now.

heck yes!! that rules dave!

i'm sure you have it taken care of, but let me know if you need help. Ive never had the great experience of swapping yet, so it'd be a great learning experience.

good luck!
one question though, why wont it rev high enough with the GSR tranny? i'm a noob at gearing stuff like that.

edit: wait, i'm assuming thats because of the ECU and NOT the tranny. am i right?

yeah, the p72 rev limiter is lower than the b16a one (not sure what the designation for that ecu is  )

The tranny isn't a big deal, the taller gearing just makes the car feel a little sluggish. It was wierd driving around in a civic with an interior. h:

thanks

oh and paul, you're welcome to help if you want. Hopefully Josh'll want to join us. The three of us can probably take care of it pretty quick.
