Default LSD question, quality or not?

Ok.. interesting conversation that i had with some friends the other night.

I've always looked at the OBX brand name as junk. No offence to anyone out there but it's just the way that i saw things. They made mufflers that were sold at pep boys some stupid crap like that. but reently some of my buddys have seen a Turbo manifold that has come from them that looks a lot like the full race manifold, & actually performs very well.

What i'm getting at here is i'm lookin to get ahold of another b18 tranny for my civic in the near future & i started looking at some LSD setups.. I've read some reviews on the OBX LSD & from what i've read, people seem to be pleased with it. I'm not looking to spend a crap load of money on LSD but i would like something that is going to be reliable & work well.

Does anyone out there any any experience with the OBX limited slip or should i stay away from it...

all information is welcome. Thanks in advance!

OBX doesn't manufacture anything they sell from what I know, they just buy things and stamp their names on it. The LSD could be of decent quality but I don't think I'd ever risk it with something like that.

BTW, their turbo manifolds are peices of shit. I've seen one that had 10+ cracks in it

Honda OEM lsd is about $300-400 and can be installed in an open diff tranny. I'd trust honda over OBX (I didn't even know they made differentials, but have seen much evidence of their other products being junk).

I'd prefer to go with a Quaife or Type R LSD.

how many of you actually have an OBX LSD? none?

a member on honda-tech put an OBX LSD in his 740 hp car and hasn't had any problems. another member of honda-tech compared it to a quaife....exact same thing.

the tubular manifold is garbage... do a search, somebody here had one that cracked in multiple locations repeatedly. He welded it several times and finally gave up when it continued cracking.
