Default aux input question

Ok I want to use my MP3 player with the stock Honda CD head unit. I know I can buy a number of products to do this such as the PIE HON98-AUX Auxiliary Input Converter. But it is $50. I wanted to know if I have to buy a "Converter" or if I can just hardwire this thing myself. I can get the 14-pin connector I need. I just need to know what the pin out is and if I have to do anything else to make it work. any info would be a big help
Thanks

I use a FM modulator. You hook it into the headphone jack of the MP3 player, set the station on the modulator and then turn to that station on your head unit. Costs about $15-20 at radio shack.

Maybe you could get a cd changer that supports mp3.

edit: sorry, re-read your post. Didn't realize you wanted to use your mp3 player. (iPod?)
