Because I'd venture a guess of 95% of the people who buy a Civic don't give a damn. It's cheaper to make covers that dont say "VTEC." It's a compact commuter car, after all.

If you're in the upper rev band and the check engine light is not on, that's how.

WHA>>?My check engine light is on..cant find the problem tho..car seems to run smooth maybe its a broken sensor? I should take it to the dealer and have them scan the ECU huh? Umm.... you could be messin up your motor..... If you CEL is on, then your motor will be in gimp mode... And I believe Vtec will not engage, I actualy thought it wouldnt let u rev over 4500? But thats just what I read... Dude when u got a CEL treat it as if the engine is running on no oil... and if u drive it, or run it, you will ruin it... Take it to Autozone if u drive it, and if not check it urself... Its not hard at all... And it could save the life of your motor..
