Default Gas mileage?

i got a 94 coupe, with a bodykit, and twice a month i need to drive about 3 hours to my girls college to see her. its aobut 200 miles or so (400 round trip, 800miles total per month). ive been posting up about 41 mpg on the highway on the d15b7. is there any good ideas that i can save even more gas? i got the tires to roll with 35 psi, slap the sulencer into the muffler once i go, and no spare tire in the turnk. damn bodykit killing the aerodymanics!!

Increase air pressure to 38-40psi (check the outside of your tire to make sure you don't go over the max), clean your intake filter, add fuel injector cleaner at every oil change or 3000 miles, go with 0w-30 oil, skinnier tires (running with the stock Civic size is better 185/65x14"), lighter wheels, wax your car, make sure your car is running in tip-top shape, make the underneath of your car flat (aka Lotus Elise), make sure you have 0 toe front and rear, and actually I would put your spare tire back in as it will level your car and make it more aerodynamic.

In my opinion without the spare the weight goes more onto the front of the car causing more drag.

If you want to go the expensive route, you can get some form of air/fuel controller and lean it out in the cruise band. Not my fault if you blow up the engine though.

You could add some fuel system cleaner or fuel injector cleaner as mentioned above. That would most likely help some.

I am getting 50 mpg on the highway driving too and from college - 1992 Honda Civic cx hatchback, tein ss... stock for the most part.

I got 44mpg ATL-Richmond non stop with a D15B7 and a CX trans on a stock bodied '92 CX. Stock 13" steelies with 3 different kinds of tires on it and 2 different pressure ratings... and loaded down with another passenger and a weeks worth of stuff for 2 people. The car was full.

So... get a CX transmission. That will boost it. Just kiss performance goodbye.
