hey did a search but couldn't find any threads relating to this,

on my cx civic the passenger window roll-up/down handle becamse usless and I took the plastic/vinal panel off and from what i can see, it prbably got dissalinged.

Problem is the gears and junk are behind another metal panel thats welded onto the door itself, i tried to work with it from outside that metal panel but can't seem to get anywhere, for all I know an esential bolt or whatever could have fallen off cuz I can barely see what i'm workig with.

Anyone have any experience with this or suggestions? the window is right now able to be pulled down from the outside so I'm tripping about security (i'ma put a c-clamp to make the window permanent up if i can't fix it quick). specifically I have no experience with welding so if anyone knows another way to get that metal door panel off or what i would expect to pay having it done for me,, thanks in advance

 

pull the whole assembly out and fix it. im assuming that after you take it out you should be able to see really easily what the problem is. If it ends up needing to be replaced let me know. I have one in my garage.

 

does it feel like the handle just snapped off like the gears wont work anymore, and can u pull up and push down the window with ur hands if u can the actuator is probably broken. thats what happened to our civic a while back, from what i heard thats one of the major and only problems with civics from 96-98 was the actuator(sp) fairly easy to fix only about 10 bolts max and probably anywhere from 30-100 bucks depending on who u buy from
