Default Axel maybe?

On our 97 Hatch we are getting a clacking noise coming from the passanger side of the engine bay. Whenever you give it gas it will clack. Now it does not happen all the time but the times it does you can feel it through out the whole car. Now I think it's the axel but not too sure what do you guys think?

One of the motor mounts could be loose.

well, from my experience, the boot would go before the axle, but it all depends on your driving.... I suppose if you were throwing down alot of power, you could bust an axle, but with city driving, the boot would bust first.... Even still, alot of the noise that makes comes during turning....

I'm just basing this from the 5 cv boots I've gone through on various honda's

turn the wheel all the way when you're parked, and get under there. Check for gunk from inside the boot, and feel around the boot. if there's a tear, it should be pretty easy to find. But there should definalty be alot of crap in the area

Yeah Yeah I know what you mean. Im gonna run downstairs and check. When we swapped the gsr in we could only find the driverside axel so we only installed that one and never got around to changing the one we got and installed. Ehh it happends while you turn and go straight.
