Default Interior dome light not bright enough

I am sure the plastic lens cover has also yellowed some which contributes to the dim interior, but I am looking for some other bulb solution. What other bulb solutions are out there? Some sort of HID wannabe type bulb for the interior to make it bright...does something like that exist?

Thanks.

I think I've seen led bulbs for that... Or you could design your own cluster of 6-7 white leds... that would be pretty bright...

Yeah, I got a dome light from a Teggy at the wrecking yard for 5.00, went to radio shack and got 4 white and 4 blue LED's (make sure they are 12v or you will fry alot of $$) and keep in mind the higher the voltage says on the package the better (a car runs on 13.2 Volts not 12). I got the LED's a small wafer board (a circuit board with lots of holes), a conductor pen (a drawing pen filled with liquid metal (to draw the circuits) and took it home and soldered everything together, and then soldered wires to the contacts and put female terminals on them, (incase I need to replace it I dont have to cut and resolder).

I mixed up the LED's White-Blue-White-Blue.. You get it.... And it is very bright.

LED's- $12.00
Circuit Board- $3.00
Solder pen- $5.00
Total cost: 20.00

And it should last the lifetime of the dome light cover....

I know neons are considered rice sometimes, but I put in some white neon tubes behind and on either side of my dome light, and it's bright as fvck in there now. Just make sure you use the little transformers that come with em, becuase otherwise they tend to pop, and after that it's just a matter making a few inches of wire look neat.

Alls I want to do is plug and play.

actually, I think 99-00 ex's and si's had them, either optional or flat-out stock...

94+ integra's use a similar map light (same size, particularly), but its better

here's mine

pretty simple install, really....

or if you want OEM-crazyness like I do, you can get Acura vigor c-pillar map lights for the rear seats :exnbp:
