Default Custom Turbo Questions.....

I have a D16Z6 and just got a Garrett T3 turbo on ebay from airresearch, I am now looking for a manifold, and was leaning towards cast, its only a little more expencive, but I believe its worth it. I also wanted to know about a down pipe? I have never installed a turbo and dont know what I need to do to hook it to my exhaust.

Here is what I have: T3 turbo, Intercooler from a Ford Probe Turbo V6, Turbo intake kit with K&N filtercharger filter.

What else do I need besides a manifold, and BOV?

I hope you know what youre getting into...and not just slapping a turbo on w/o tuning. You NEEEEEED a good fuel management system.

If you buy the correct flange for the turbo, any exhaust shop could make a downpipe. Just make sure you tell them mandrel bent pipe only.

Oh also I ordered a 2.00 pipe kit for the turbo, is that a good size? Or should I cancel the order, or change it to a larger diameter?

you still need fuel management
an s/v-afc, hondata, uberdata, a shitty shitty vortech fmu. Just because youre throwing a shit load of fuel into your engine doesnt mean thats managing it. You need the correct ratio of air:fuel

kteller.com sells a lot of flanges. They might have one for your turbo. If not just search google.
I did the work for you.........http://www.kteller.com/store/product...roducts_id/701

sounds like someone started buying before doing all the research. Your well on your way down the path of a blown motor my friend. As stated several times already its not as simple as just getting some crap and bolting it to the car. You need to know what youre getting into. Theres more to turbo charging then "it makes you faster and it sounds cool".

Contact incublinkus here @ HAN. I know he has a custom made flange from a local machine shop. I do not believe he is go FI anymore.

Ask him if it'll fit. It was supposed to be for a d16y8 with an HX manifold.
