cant get wheel hub off
i am trying to replace a broken stud...i took the 32mm axle nut off...but i cant remove the hub to hammer the broken stud off...can someone hhelp?...its a 98 civic ex 2dr..thanks

Try pressing the stud out with a C clamp. The hub removal will probably require you to replace the bearing unless you are pressing it off with the correct tools.
You could take off the knuckle and have the lug pressed off at a shop? Or drill out the broken one??

Is it the drum or the disk brake. If it the drum you can release the brake shoes thru a stargear in the inside of the brake. If its the disk there should be 2 threaded holes on the face of the hub. Place screws into these and slowly bolt them in. As they go in they will force the hub out.

i had all 4 of my front right studs break off of my car when i was messing with my new wheels and I ended up just taking my whole front right hub assembly off and taking it to a local shop to have new ones pressed in. Cost me $45 but was done right and had the hub assembly back in and everything fixed. Good luck though bro.

Ok I don't have a civic but I'm looking at the chiltons for the lude and there are 4 bolts behind the steering knuckle next to the axle that hold the hub on. It may be the same as the civic. If you don't figure it out by tuesday let me know I'll look at the alldata when I go to school.

I would suggest bringing it to get it done. I've done about three DC Integra hubs and an 01 Civic hub. In all four instances I bent up the dust shields. On the Integra hubs there is a snap ring on the inside of the hub. I believe the 98 Civic is the same way. The only way to get the stud out is to cut it short enough to side out, or press the bearing out. If you want to put a new stud in you have to press the bearing out. In any case if you could get it done for $45, DO IT!
