Default Bseries tranny decision problem

Okay, I'm having a problem deciding which tranny to get. My set up will be a B20B engine with an LS or GSR tranny. I just made a call and they said $600 for an LS tranny, and $650 for a GSR tranny. Now I know the GSR tranny will accelerate the car faster, but I don't want to be on the Highway going somewhere reving high all the time with ****ed up gas mileage cause I do alot of driving, and race occasionally. Does anyone know what the rpms are in 5th gear at 70mph with a GSR&LS tranny, and what might be my top speed with a 7200 rev limiter.

I say go for the gsr. I mean you are doing the swap to be faster, so why not use your money wisely and make it as fast as you can. It's not going to be that noticable difference with the gsr and ls, If you went with a b16 it might be some high revs though

Go for the GS-R trans. You won't regret it, and it won't burn much more fuel.

You'll be kicking yourself in the future if you went for the longer geared LS trans. It's like the difference between a 4.1 final and a 4.3 final... it's noticable.

FWIW my Si runs at roughly 4k RPMS in 5th at 70, and it's geared similarly (if not shorter) than a GSR tranny.

4k at 70? Damn, my car runs 3k at 80 and outruns 99-00 Si's.

(what's the final drive on those, anyway? 4.4 like Honda seems to love? bseries.net seems to be down)

I'd take the gs-r tranny for $50. If nothing else, it'll give you the acceleration when you need it and keep you from speeding when you don't.
