Suspension (?) aggravation
This sucks. I've had my car lowered on H&R sports and KYBs for about 3000 miles now. No problems whatsoever. Suddenly today, when I begin driving home from work, I hear this kind of metallic rubbing from the front driver's side. I get out and look, camber is fine, lug nuts tight, rim isn't hitting the brake caliper or anything. OK fine.
I keep going, the sound continues. I babied the car home since by now I'm clueless. There was nothing wrong with the car's handling from what I could tell, and no vibration at speeds up to 55. I get home, jack the thing up and spin the front left wheel: same noise. It isn't from the rim or brake caliper or dust cover, sounds like its deeper than that, like somewhere around the hub.
Is it possible I broke the hub centric ring? I'll be taking the wheel off when my dad gets home with the tools.

Brake pad? Maybe something got in between the pad and the rotor? What wheel and tire size and setup do you have?

They are 16x7 Rota Circuit 8's, 40 offset. H&R Sports with KYB adjustables. After much fiddling around I knocked something loose behind the brake rotor and the sound is gone. Its really cold outside right now, so I'll hope it was just something stuck in there. It was windy/rainy today, so hopefully a small rock or something just got stuck.
I've been learning to heal-toe downshift lately, could it be related? Thanks for the input guys.

I thought I replied to this, but maybe I hit the wrong button.
:dunno:
My mom and dad's car had the same problem you are discribing and it ended up being a rock stuck between the rotor and the back plate behind the rotor.

check and see if the metal brake shield thing (i forget the name and am too tired to think of it right now) but check and see if it isn't slightly bent making it rub your rotors. Sometimes when people jack up your car, or mess with your tires they can mess it up alil bit.
