that is the air intake, it should have two of them, one with a tube connected to the intake manifold (in the engine), and that one... that one is called a resonator, or to make it easier, just buy whole the air intake..... or it would be better if you buy some other kind of air intake, anything but stock... stock sucks... buy a short ram air intake or cold air intake... their better than stock... more HP... and short ram intakes will cost the same or even less, depends on what brand you choose.... but CAI(Cold Air Intake) will cost a lot more..) but they're better
PS: r u a newb???

well, it depends, safe to drive without THE WHOLE PIECE??.... NO... but only without the piece on the picture, don't worry...nothing will happen.... but becareful because ur engine could suck water or some other particles and that could be harmful to your engine...
hey the first pic, is the short ram air intake... the second one probably looks similar to yours... but its not the same... ... so you could drive without the piece you broke but it would'nt be too safe....

dont worry about that crap thats the resinator u dont need at. all its there to do is route air to filter. pull out any other pieces that are there. all that stuff is meant to quiet air flow.
