Since i bought my sol a few months ago, the dome light stays on even with the doors closed. The switch is fine, so i guess i have a short somewhere. Are there any places that have been known to house shorts in the wiring for the dome light? It will stay off in the off position and on in the on position. Any help would be great, thanks!

 

Check both door switches.

 

i bought a new switch actually, thinking that was the problem as well, and the dome light flickers when the door is shut but doesn't shut off....anywhere else?

 

The same thing was happening in my Sol. Its actually the door jamb switch. Its either stuck in the on position (popped out) or the wires on the door switch is bad entirely.

 

If it flickers, try adjusting the door latch. Move it inward a few mm. The latch will hold the door tighter when closed, which should hold the switch down.

 

does the light stay off when you push the door switch in with your hand?

if it still flickers then the switch is bad or the wire is being pinched somewhere.
if it stays off then adjust the door jam.... or for a temporary fix, stick a few peices of black tap on the spot where it hits the door to push the switch in further.

 

If i push in the door switch, the light flickers a little but stays on, i bought a new door switch and tried it out, so i guess there must be a pinched wire shorting out somewhere. i guess i'll have to try and trace it....anyone know how the wires get to the dome light?
