Gen1 B16a in a 5thgen civic coupe?
i know b16a is OBD0, so could i just buy an OBD0 to OBD1 conversion kit and put the b16 in my civic?
i found a wrecked crx with a gen 1 b16 in it for hella cheap. how much of a problem would it be to swap it in my civic?

The conversion isn't difficult. Pick up an OBD-I DOHC VTEC distributor and injectors, reuse your D-series harness and add the VTEC wires. It's not too hard.
The problem is the cable trans that comes on the first gen B16A's. Either sell it for a hydro or buy the proper conversion kit.
