Default SHaving roof gutters

I have a 94 hatch and i wanna get rid of those rain gutters on the roof , can i just fill them in with filler after i take out the rubber or do they need welded shut? Anyone have any pics of this done? Thanks

I would highly highly highly rec. welding in strips to keep the amount of bondo to an absolute minimum....if you just fill it, the bondo will stress and crack as the body of the car rolls and stresses.

honestly shaving the rain rails is just dumb and gay, when you get it done you will see what i mean. even though you weld it and use very little bondo it will still crack. i have it so many times. i really dont know why some customers request it, i tell them straight up it will crack due to the flexing of the chassis. only way it wont is if you have nice stiff coilovers, front tower bar, rear tower bar, lower rear control arm bar, front lower H-bar, rear tower bar, floor bar and a C-pilliar bar, seriously.

unless you drive like grandma.
