Default Low Gas Light Issue - Need your help

I was wondering if the low gas light is suppose to come on when you start the car (like the dash light precheck). I have a 98 ex and the light does not for me. I have also driven until I was pretty low on gas and yet the light never came on. Any help would be appreciated.

No, it does not come on when you first start the car. It should only come on when your car is low on gas.(about 1-2 gallons remaining in tank)

Do 92 Civic DX's come with that light or an audible sound?

reguardless, the light does not come on when you start the car unless you are really low on fuel

Thanks a lot for the help.

Here is another question: Has anyone found it hard to start the car (excessive cranking) when the car is low on gas (and maybe on an incline such as a hill)?

I had problems starting my car when it was low on gas and i guess it has something to do with the fact that there was not enough fuel pressure because the fuel pump was sucking air. The air did start and drive after I cranked it with my foot on the gas pedal.

to solve that, all you need to do is turn the key to the acc. position, and wait a second, then turn it to start the engine, all that does is feed some more fuel to the engine, as when you are low on fuel the line might not be completely full.
