Default nother noobie swap question

Ok, I am swaping a B16a SIR II into I a 92-95 civic, and I want to know what needs to be done to the motor before I swap it??? The reason I am asking is that I know somethings are easier to do with engine out of the car so to save time and money I would like to know what needs to be done. I am trying to get 250-300 hp out of the motor. I want my car to be all motor no boost. Any suggestions?????????????? :thinking

the timing belt and water pump usually. if you plan to get a new clutch and/or flywheel, also a good time to do that and any internal upgrades if you have the parts

its much easier to work on an engine while its off the car. so do all you can. as far as achieving 250-300hp all motor, youve got alot of work ahead of you.

Always sound advice. Unless you like benchpressing transmissions.

if you want that much power all motor youll need to do the bottom end up. pistons, bore, stroke, rods, bearings, water and oil pumps, plus head work. but if you want it in as is now just tune it up completely, with timing belt replacment, oil change, and stuff. but for that much power you need a ton of money and time. i have an ls vtec swap in my hatch running 235 hp at the wheels with a list of parts to get it there
