Hey i have a 98 dx coupe and want to get the side moldings painted. How much would this cost?

 

I spoke with the body shop at the Honda Dealer where I got my 2000 ex civic coupe. They said that it would cost about $50 per side molding if I brought them in unmounted and cleaned. $100 aint bad.... I bought a tar remover/degreaser to clean it off. Then I'm gonna spray a couple coats of Bulldog Adhesion Promoter to help the auto paint stick to the plastic....the body shop told me that the paint will probably chip off easily otherwise.

 

why are you spraying adhesion promoter to painted plastic? you only spray it on to bare plastic before you paint. The body shop has to sand the moldings before they spray them.

i have been doing autobody for 12 years.

 

Make sure it'll well prepped, I've seen tons of moldings flake.

I'd say $100-150 is fair.
