Default noobie with a question s

I am new to hondas, in fact I dont even have one yet hence the reason for my questions. I know that I want a 92-95 hatchback but what would be best for an engine swap??? I have been looking into a B16A SIR II or a B18c1 ,but I am unsure which would be best for daily driver purposes. I am looking for the one that will provide enough power to race every now and then with friends. I am thinking that I would like 250-300 HP, I know that alot for a daily drive but I have to have a goal right.

well I mean if you like high revs, then the SiRII, if you like a better platform to start with for HP then I would go wit the B18C.

Personally I would pick B16, because I love mine

Spend the extra money and get a b18c1. Best motor to start with no matter what is planned in the future.

I have a b16a SiRII in my Si, and I love it.

Its not that great on gas for me though, but I deal with it.

The B18C1 would make a slightly nicer daily driver thanks to the extra torque. That makes creeping along in traffic easier, and gives a little extra 'umph' when passing.

As mentioned, it has better overall power potential.

Thanks for the info. I posted the same question a few days ago on another site i choose not to name and the admin did was close it and say "you need to search." Well I did search but seaching does not give me drivers opinions on the engines. There certainly seens to be a better crowd here. Again I thank you.

OK next question. What is the easiest engine to swap the B16a SIR II or the B18C1??? I think I am leaning in the direction of the B16 mainly because of cost. Is there any hidden cost that I might need to be aware of???

peace,

they are both basically the same difficulty wise, B series is a B series somewhat with swapping difficulty.

If your not doing the labor yourself there are a few things to watch out for, just makre sure what they estimate you gets written down and signed by them, and if the grand total starts to differ, and there is parts on there that they didnt ask you permission to buy, start arguing.

I really dont think youll be sorry with the B16, I love mine so much I cant even explain
