Default oil pan question...kinda weird

Earlier today i hit a pot hole on the driver side and i have a leak in my oil pan. It is too dark for me to see how big of a leak it is, but pretty much all my oil is gone, i had to add more just so that i could make it home from a friends house. I hit the pot hole earlier today and upon checking my car then, everything was fine, but now theres a leak. I was wondering if there is anyway that it can be patched up or do i need to get a new one and replace it all together.

the oil pan is metal, you have to weld it or something. I think i have an extra oil pan lying around for a d15, d16. I was gonna use it but then i'm doing an engine swap pretty soon, so i might not have a need for that. If that's the case i might pass it on to you for cheap, if interested

I would suggest just replacing it...

i agree. An oil pan wont cost you that much, and a new one will give you better peace of mind than a patched up hackjob. In fact, if you don't mind hanging tight for a couple weeks, you can probably have mine for free.

There you go.

I mean, I think a weld might make do, but I wouldn't run it just for peace of mind.

It's not that hard to do yourself, and while you're at it, you can change the gasket.
