Does anybody have any sort of idea how much it would cost me to have my 95 Civic Coupe w/ body kit painted? I am looking to paint it NOS Blue and have my side mouldings shaved. Thanks

 

Bodywerk in chicago gave my friend an estimate about $3500 for paint other color than your stock,plus some shaved and moulding too.
They do an excellent job.

 

This is the hardest question to get an answer on. I've tried plenty of times to ask this. For some reason you can't even get them to give an estimate over the phone. I want my moldings/emblems shaved, and kit painted also. I've been quoted from $1000-$5000. Some people will tell you their friends only cost $800. If someone quotes less than $2k I know I don't want to use them, because no one gives quality paint jobs for less than that. On the other hand $5k is way too much. My advise is to look closely at cars that you think the work is nice, and then ask them where they got them painted at. That's what I've done, and I'm going to get quotes from each of the body shops. Then I'll go with whoever's in the middle. Everyone has a their own idea of quality, but I'm meticulous. I don't want any runs, dirt particles under the paint, and I don't want it to start chipping right away.
