Is there anyway to find out the record history of an engine using the serial number? I heard that it was possible.
I know I might not find much but anything will help

I Don't think there is any record of anything on your motor. I never heard of that but then again you never know. Only way is if that motor was always worked on by the dealer

The only thing you can tell is if it was stolen or not, and that is only when it is reported.

We can tell you the model by the engine type (the number right below the serial number,) in the format:

Letter Number Number Letter Number

Examples:
D16Z6, which came from a 92-95 Civic EX or Si.
B18A1, which came from a 90-93 Integra RS, LS, LS-S, or GS.
