Default Type-R Pricing??

I'm cpying my thread over from the ITR forum since I know many more poeple read this one:

They have a yellow ITR at a local BMW dealership. One of the salesmen told me the car had a Comptech Intake, a $2100 sound system, and was babied by the 50 year old guy who owned it. They want $25000 for it. Is this a decent price?

Also, the salesmen said it was babied by some 50 year old guy and was raced at Watkins Glen a few times. I don't believe this was the only racing and mods done to the car because there are red decals in front of the front wheel wells near the ground, small Mugen stickers in the back-side windows, and a West Point sticker in the back window. Do I take their word for it or haggle down the price because I know it's been raced?

crap, i knew i forgot something in my original post. it has 27000 miles on it, a short shifter, a $2100 sound system (which I find hard to believe), and five point harnesses.

i agree.

i also agree that is WAY too much for that car. you shouldnt pay for any stereo equipment, (ie, that shouldnt really be a selling point), and with race miles on it, id say that should drop its value AT LEAST 10%, even with the mods the guy left on there.

i wouldn't add much more than 5k to a newer model, (kbb is gay and doesnt have data on the 00/01 teg type r)

heh a 50 year old man babied the car yet he added 5 point harness and never raced. and don't forget he bumped some beatles all over town with his phat ass stereo.

in my opinion you shouldn't even phug with it. they're obviously lying to you already so why buy a car from them?
