Use a new resonator. There is no good reason not too, and that would be a huge bottleneck in the exhaust if you reuse the old one.

you should have just gotten the whole magnaflow cat-back, only costs like 300 and it comes with the muffler and resonator and its full stainless steel. how much did you end up paying for your whole system?

well the exhaust system from magnaflow only fits the 1.6L and i have a 1.5L and it doesnt havge the muffler that i like. The muff is going to cost like 95 and the piping is 150 including labor and a new resinator about 50. So do u think it is a good deal??

i bought mine for the 1.6L too, it doesnt make a difference. its just a typo, if its for a dx/lx its a 1.5. you would be basically spending the same amount of money on a "custom" exhaust why not just get the whole catback. its not loud at all.
