Default d16y8 stock rods,are they strong enough?

i have a 98 d16y8 running a greddy turbo kit. im thinking bout building the bottom end.i dont want to spend alot of money.i was wondering how much h.p. can the stock rods handle,and is it worth it it to buy after market ones.

i usually here 200whp is about as high as you want to go.. but i've seen someone hit 300..

its all about having it tuned properly

you should be okay up to 12psi but even then your engine's gonna go sooner than you want.

i've seen 250+whp on stock rods...
but it won't last long...
just buy some eagles and some nice pistons like i'm gonna do..

dont boost too much stock bottom cant handle much above 8psi safely. just talked to a cat the other day who managed to boost 10psi for 2 years before blowing motor. if you cant build bottom end soon keep boost down. eagle rods and srp pistons.
