If you look at it, that Sol crumpled really well, as in the passenger area appears fully intact. That's Honda engineering for you. I hope you're friend is doing as well as the pictures suggest.

Man, that aluminum wing held up GREAT! I hope your friend is in at least as good of shape.

One of the LINUX developers that ported that OS to Macintosh got rear-ended in his civic by an SUV, and it's sad to say... it didn't hold up as good. He's alive, but aside from breathing, he can't really do anything else. If you saw the car, you'd swear the driver was killed. You don't want to be rear-ended in a civic. You can think they're designed well for this sort of thing, but really only if they're hit by another civic.

PS: I @$^#%ing hate SUVs.

He was waiting inside a friends house when the truck hit it. It was a newer style chevy pickup. The car spun and flew they said like 3 or 4 houses down. The truck then tried to get away and ran down the street. The cops eventually caught the man who was drunk.

Giant aluminum wing saves another life? Glad your friend's OK, now go sue the hell out of that drunk driver and teach him how to not be a ricer before the lawsuit is over.
