Default Falken Azenis performence

This is a question for those who have the Falken Azenis sports. How do the ride in the rain? I already know that they are perfect for dry but i never heard how they are in the rain. Any help would be nice.

theyre great to a point. On normal wet roads, they still move enough water and grip fine... significant amounts of standing water are bad though... they hydroplane pretty bad through big puddles at speed. Basically, if you just drive carefully (i.e., don't go over 60) when you're likely to encounter standing water, and you'll be fine.

I heard that as soon as they get damp, they explode, sending shrapnel hurtling towards a bus full of cute little kittens.

Essentially the Chevelle of Tires.

But seriously, the fact that you're even asking this, means that they have a known reputation, especially for hydroplaning.

:chuckles: luckily they come with a complimentary kitten/puppy/baby insurance policy.

They are fine with full tread. They come with about 6-7mm of tread. Up to about 4mm they are fine in the rain. Anything lower and you just have to slow down just like any other tire.

I drove through a monsoon last week at 80mph and I was fine with my 205/50x15" Azenis. Don't let others tell you differently.

Also alignment has alot to do with how well the Azenis run in the rain.

They are great especially in the rain. Great gripping. I actually have a set that I can't use anymore (too wide) .

Common, you and I have run multiple autocross runs with them in the wet. They aren't too bad, at least not nearly as bad as some folks make them out to be.

I'm not saying theyre bad... I'm just saying they hydroplane when they hit standing water (as most tires will, but a little worse than the standard wet/dry performance tire)... theyre great in the rain, to a point (as I mentioned originally), and after that point, just exercise caution, and you'll be fine.

I tend to disagree. I use them for everyday driving and autocross. No problems. Just keep an eye on the tread.
