Default Pre Swap Research

Okay, next weekend im am picking up my motor, its a d16y8 outta a del sol SI. He has a 99 civic EX trans bolted up to it, what ever ECU that has stock, and axels, its going into a 94 civic sedan. It was 350$ from a friend of a friend, so im not ganna pass it up. Eather way, I know im ganna need a knock sensor cuase the current 1 is shot, um. Pritty much what i need to know are some details. As is wiring it, what problems might i have, will EVERYTHING, AC PS all that stuff going to bolt up 100%. currently im going to be using the stock ECU from my car now, once i find 1, will put in a p28, and once that happens wire vtec. I have pleanty of tools and a place to do the swap, and 1 kid that has done maybe 1 or 2 before to help, along with 2 others that have never done a swap before. I know im sorta rambeling, just trying to do all the research i can before i have to dive into this project

The D16y8 comes out of a 6th Gen. EX (SOHC VTEC). It will bolt up fine with your 94 Ferio. You should have no problems with the AC and PS seeing as it does come out of a civic into a civic. As for the wiring it should be good.

Thats is going to be the hard part, it is an OBD2 motor,im alost 100%, its a 96 del sol, and since my car is OBD1, going to be some issues there. My current motor is partable, so i can use any OBD1 parts outta that, but im not sure which 1s they might be, i know im ganna need to use my knock sensor outta it, (if it will fit) becuase current one is shot. From what i hear around the Dizzy too. If you fellas can think of anothing ealts that might need replacing, fire away.

Ferio is just what all the JDM junkies call four door civics.

Alternator plug is different too.

OBD1 ecus don't care about the knock sensor, so don't worry. Also, don't wory about the CKF plug coming out of the oil pump, OBD1 ecu, again doesn't care.
