Default Time For A New Car

I currently own a 03 Tiburon GTV6. In the shop again for the 6th time in two years. I am thinking about a new Civic. For you Civic owners, what are some of the problems you have been seeing? Anything I should ask for/expect from the dealer? Any advice would be helpful. THANKS!

Well my Civic is a 93' so any problems I have you probably won't have for some time. But I love the ease (compared to some other vehicles) of things that you can DIY. There's enough info online and people on forums like this that if you have a problem one can easily fix it themselves for a small cost. Only real cost is building your tool chest if you don't have one. My 5th gen. car can come apart with basically three sockets as well which is nice.

Which model are you looking to buy?
I have a 98 and has never been in the shop for anything other than regular scheduled maintenance.

Yeah Civics and Acuras are besically great cars. And any problems you have can be easaly fixed by you.

That's a shame. It's such a pretty chassis, too. What kind of things keep breaking on it?

Just realize that your Tiburon would completely walk a new Civic. If you want to stay on the same performance level, I'd look at an Si or a base RSX

The paint on the front bumper started peeling off -- Twice!

Recalls -- Twice

Sunroof (sunshield) Broke

Major electrical problem -- Been in the shop for two weeks now and they haven't been able to figure out where the problem is.

Ya, I love the performance, handling, looks, etc... of the Tiburon, however, I hate having to take it in for repairs every few months.
