Default Civic Help

Hi guys, I have a 97 Civic EX 4Dr. I plan on putting a B18C in, in a little while. My main problem is that my Civic doesn't have VTEC. and the B18 does. Would the wires be in my harness and just not used? or will I have to run the 2-3 new wires. It isn't a big problem to run those wires, but if they are already there, I would rather just use the factory ones.

thanks guys

Mark

You will have to run a new wire for VTEC engagement.

I believe I saw a good write up on this on hondaswap the other day.

Here it is:

I believe you have to register to see it, but I'm not sure.

the only difference is the non VTEC engine. isn't the LX a stripped car as far as options go? as in no Power anything, and crap interior stuff like that. my EX has pwr everything, and leather interior, and that OEM wing on the back. just no VTEC

ahh... canadian model. Sheesh, I was about to say something nasty :exnbp: Use the search function, or check the general info sticky... its been covered in great detail many times. Its not too complicated, you can either use the b18c wiring harness, or run a wire for vtec.
