Loss of compression perhaps? Did they change the gasket when they did the head job?

Everything says nothing. did they put new valves in it? new seals? new gaskets? new reatainers? any valve work? any porting?

How about you find out exactly what they did and then we might be able to help you diagnose your problem?

If it was simply rebuilt plus shaved a few thousanths, you shouldn't experience any noticable increases. I'd be willing to bet you just got used to the power and it just feels slower.

...that's sad, esp. if you say it was something '93 or older. A well running B18B1 swapped Civic won't suck that hard (with a decent driver.)
