what would be involved with swapping the rails etc.. that would require swapping the bottome plate correct? i really don't want to open up the seats and chance that. i'll talk to my dad about getting the peices welded onto the rail/slider what ever its called

i'd say welding would probably be fine, but i'm no expert...

and remember, if you were to take bumnah's suggestion, your install would be a lot cleaner

I would rather you try to remove the rails from the stock seats and try that. But whatever man! It's your ride. Looks ok though.

which part exactly is the rail? i don't know exactly which term applies to which peice: rails, sliders etc.

the setups on the bottom of the seats are completely different. theres nothing identical so the entire thing would have to be swapped over

i put up all the pics on this page:
http://www.rit.edu/~ltk6260/seats.html

any more discussion about the safety issues at hand? i think if i go out and get some better grade bolts( i think grade 8 is about the strongest you can find from any place local) and some locking nuts that would make others as well as myself a lil more secure

take apart the seats man. it's easy to do.

you have 2 of them. if you get lost look at the driver seat to see how it goes. it's not hard.

those bracket are not safe at all!

i can only warn you.

^^ why do you feel they are so unsafe? they are made of 3/16" steel and i'll up to some grade 8 bolts and locking nuts.

what if the fabricated parts were welded to the seat assembly :dunno:

more discussion on this tho
