Default Exhaust leak..

Ok..i finally finished installing my header and now i go to turn my car on and I see smoke coming from the header. So i turn the car off and then on again and I didnt see any more smoke but I can smell something burning kinda. And I feel smoke coming from the header.

Btw I have a 95 civic DX with a DC sport 4-2-1 ceramic header and I bought a new gasket for the header..

this might apply to you but i'm not the expert and you might have something burning.
i stuck in a new muffler a week ago and it was hanging high, directing into my rear bumper and for a few days i smelt something burning (like plastic melting) i looked but my bumper hadn't melted a hole. consulted my buddy car guy and he said it was the smell of the new muffler tip burning in. (smell went away after i put a tail pipe on) so what i'm saying, maybe its the smell of your new pipage burning in?

good luck

did you happen to do the same thing i did and leave the plastic bag the header came in, under the car?

it could just be the new stuff burning off.

if this continues after 20-30 miles...then be a lil more worried.

and how do you feel smoke from the header?

if there was a leak, you should be able to hear it.

Ceramic dissapates heat. And our dc header smoked for quite awhile when we first put it on also. If you cover your exhaust tip and can hear the exhaust elsewhere, you probably have a leak.

I think I figured out what it was..it was all that wd-40 that I sprayed around o2sensor and all the bolts that hook the DC sport header in. I guess it was burning.
