Default Front-mount intakes

Hey all, does anyone have one of these: front-mount intake?
I was thinking of getting one for my '93 del Sol, and was just wondering what are the advantages/disadvantages of one.
Also, I found a site that sells them, but only for Civic 92-95. Just wondering, also, if that would fit my car. I thought someone had posted before that Civic engine parts from 92-95 would fit del Sols from same year.
Thanks.

Don't waste your money on that garbage. You'll save yourself some cash and some ridicule.

Yeah, that has been the verdict I have been receiving. I wasn't sure if they helped a lot or not, but I think I am swaying way far away from doing it. Especially since it doesn't help a lot. The ridicule, hell, I am used to that, hahahahaha.

Get it if you want to fool people into thinking you have an intercooler....if you want quality and performance, don't waste your money

I just never thought putting an air filter at the mercy of rocks flying from the road was a great idea. And the only way I can see that it'd be safe is if they put something in front of it....therefore completely removing the purpose of it in the first place. Not to mention that you'd be even more prone to hydrolock than a typical cold air intake......

Ya, not a good idea.
