Changing Auto Tranny Gears
In thinkin about the eventuality of FI on my ex's 98 Ex, I was wondering if there were gears from another Honda Tranny that I could swap in while I'm having the tranny built at Level 10 for optimum effectiveness? Evetually going Fi I would need longer gears but I think that the time gap between the tranny gettin built and the engine gettin built and actually being able to purchase a turbo kit are too great.
Should I just buy a seperate auto tranny for the FI?
So for now, if we're just building the tranny to be more effective, what options for gears do I have if any to give her a better launch and better low-end?
And then when it comes to FI, what gears can I run to spool the turbo better?
Oh yeah, this is sticking with the Stock Y8

I didn't see anything on their site for premanufactured Honda Trannies. All I saw were the rebuild kits from Stage 1-3 and the TQ stages 1-3. I'm just wondering if there's anything else I can install in the tranny while it's out for the rebuild. Maybe a Quaife Diff would help. But mainly it's wanting to know if I can switch the gears for something longer or shorter or even the Final Drive Gear ratio.
The gearing in a Honda automatic is going to suck no matter what, you can't exactly change individual gears in an auto like you can a manual.
Quaife makes LSD's for Honda D-series automatics? When'd they start making that?
For the price, you'd be much better off converting to manual and getting a decent clutch. I hate to say that, but it's true.

As for switiching to manual, please save it. I've heard it over and over again but this is for my ex would doesn't want to learn stick. She prefers auto's and I'm not gonna argue with that. While she knows I find it very sexy if she knew stick, she's admitted to having enough problems with auto lol. Besides, how am I suppose to get road head if I'm tryin to shift gears in a manual?
